ICEYE grows in Germany and Portugal

Hello ICEYE Portugal and ICEYE Germany!

ICEYE, the Finnish New Space flag carrier company, announced the opening of a centre of excellence in Lisbon, Portugal, and the formal establishment of ICEYE’s German entity, based out of Berlin and Munich.

ICEYE Portugal is a long-term commitment to build advanced space technology in Portugal, for Portugal and the world. It builds on two years of partnership with the Portuguese Air Force and national partners, and reflects ICEYE's confidence in Portugal as a hub for advanced technology and talent.

At its core is a new centre of excellence in Lisbon, where ICEYE will develop in-house R&D in software, systems integration and AI, building end-to-end intelligence capability, while creating high-skilled jobs and actively hiring local talent. 

ICEYE Germany will manufacture satellite components, develop advanced software, and establish an AI centre and intelligence group, extending ICEYE's presence in one of Europe's most important defence and industrial heartlands.

The establishment of ICEYE Germany also deepens the company's partnership with Rheinmetall through Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions (RISS), a joint venture advancing sovereign space capability across Europe.
