SpacEconomy makes a strong showing at GeoForum Summit
In Otaniemi, the largest event in the field of geospatial information in Finland, the GeoForum Summit, is currently taking place. There are hundreds of participants at the event in Dipoli, along with an interesting exhibition where you can learn about location mapping, space applications, environmental research, and much more.
The geospatial industry is undergoing unprecedented growth and change. The development of satellite technology, artificial intelligence, and data accessibility is making location information more precise, efficient, and widely usable. This rapid development is opening up new opportunities in research, public services, business innovations, and everyday applications.
The SpacEconomy project is very prominently represented, and representatives from the partner organisations have many presentations in the programme. The main picture features a few of them: Miika Kostamo from ESA PhiLab, our project coordinator Heidi Kuusniemi, Juha Ollanketo from Aalto University, and Johanna Tamminen from the Institute of Meteorology.
GeoForum Summit is free and open to the public as well. The event will continue on Wednesday, 28 October.
